Karen Boeser is a certified Hatha Yoga Instructor under the guidelines of Yoga Alliance; upholding the standards of yoga teachers and yoga schools nationally. She received her Kundalini Yoga Certification in the “Masters Touch Program” as taught by Yogi Bhajan, PhD. Karen’s teaching methods have evolved over the past 15 years of practice and training, involving study with some of the most recognized teachers on the vanguard of the American Yoga scene. She combines her range of experience and training; offering a well-balanced and comprehensive approach to yoga that is both accessible to the newcomer and experienced practitioners.

My love for yoga began 11 years ago here at the Oxford Club.  The connection I felt between mind, body and spirit made me a believer.  After years of exploring many types of  yoga, I decided to deepen my practice by taking a teacher training.  I graduated from Green Mountain Yoga in 2008 with a 220 hour Hatha Yoga training.  Soon after that I began teaching here at the Oxford.  I teach a traditional style of yoga incorporating breath, movement and meditation.  I welcome new students, feeling truly blessed and grateful when they leave my class with a new found appreciation and respect for this ancient healing practice.  I encourage you to come and explore the many benefits that yoga has to offer.

Many years ago Marrana knew that she wanted to BE a teacher and after her 1st yoga class, in 1995-ish,  she found WHAT she wanted to teach and share with the world. She is a Certified All levels Integrative Hatha Yoga teacher, KRI approved Kundalini Yoga Teacher — as taught by Yogi Bhajan, and a certified Spin/Yoga instructor.

Marrana’s classes invite each participant to set an intention for their practice, their day, maybe even their life…with mindful breathing, moving the body thru flowing postures and ending with a smile. Her music is varied & fun and many of the regular students that come to Marrana’s classes enjoy a sense of camaraderie and community built through a shared practice.  Her Spin/Yoga classes are loud, energetic and fun. You will definitely break a sweat during the 30min spin session and then lengthen and stretch your muscles back out with 30min of yoga and abdominal strengthening.  If you are still sore, Marrana is a certified massage therapist as well and only a few feet away in The Oxford Spa, along with a plethora of other talented massage therapists. Marrana’s  various classes begin at 7:00am, Monday thru Friday… please join her to start your day off right.

With a degree in Kinesiology and my professional experience as a personal trainer has provides  me with an excellent working knowledge of human motion, anatomy and physiology. This knowledge of basic sciences enables me to design effective exercise programs for my clients. Over the past 20 years, I has implemented programs for individuals which include: beginners, athletes, pregnant and post-pregnant women, the elderly, disabled, as well as those with special needs such as cardiac rehabilitation, weight management, post accident trauma and multiple sclerious.

I’m a dedicated student and teacher of yoga.  I have been practicing various forms of yoga for the past twenty years.  I received my certification as a yoga instructor in 2003.  Since becoming a yoga instructor, I have taught all levels of students, from beginning to seasoned practitioners, including young, sport-minded individuals as well as those who in the over sixty age group desirous of a more gentle program.  My approach is integrative, in which I draws upon my years of experience in meditation, tai qui, qui gong, and various hatha yoga disciplines, including Astanga, Bikram, Kundalini, and Iyengar.  I am an active member of the Yoga Teachers of Colorado.

I adapt each class to the level of the participants. One and one-half hour long classes integrating meditation and chakra awareness, breath work, increasing flexibility, strength building, stress reduction and relaxation are planned.All levels are welcome.  Participants are encouraged to let go of self criticism and judgments, to grow in awareness of the body’s inner wisdom, and to embark on journey toward balancing body, mind and spirit.

I was fortunate to be trained as a ballet dancer in my childhood and as I grew up I always felt a deep connection with mind and body. My passion for dance lead me to pursue a degree in Kinesiology with a Dance emphasis. After college I discovered the joy of yoga, here I could more deeply connect mind and body, and I loved the escape that yoga created from the everyday. It seems that every time I meet my mat I am able to learn something new whether it’s about the practice or myself. I wanted to share my love of yoga with others so I decided to become a teacher of yoga and was certified in 2008 through Inner City Yoga and have been teaching with the Oxford Club ever since. As a teacher I love to watch my students grow in their practice and see the changes that occur as they learn more about the practice and themselves. I have truly enjoyed teaching at the Oxford Club, I believe that the Oxford Club attracts a very special clientele who are always a joy to work with.

I grew up in New Jersey and still consider myself a Jersey girl.  I started teaching and doing personal training in San Diego in 1990. Tamilee Webb, of Buns of Steel fame, trained me to teach.  I was lucky enough to travel with Tamilee across the country providing instructor training workshops from 1990 until I  moved to Colorado for law school in 1993.  Tamilee also invited me to be back-up in several of her Buns of Steel Videos and appear with her on Fit TV. I have been an attorney with the Boulder Public Defender’s Office since 1996.  I have continued to teach fitness classes, and have taught exclusively at the Oxford Club since coming back from maternity leave in 1998.  My goal for my classes is to incorporate strength and aerobic training in a challenging but safe workout.  The thing I love most about teaching at the Oxford is the level of intelligence and wit of my participants.  Hope to see some new faces in this Denver fitness class!

After a 25 year career in the fire service, I recently relocated to Denver. In 2005 there was a national push for health and safety for firefighters. Too many were dying shortly after retirement. I was a big participant in the national movement. Being a lifelong athlete I became an ACE certified peer fitness instructor. I also hold a degree in emergency medicine from Edison State College. My intention is to make our clients healthier and stronger each day. Focusing on high intensity, flexibility, stamina and strength utilizing mostly their own body weight. I enjoy my new home. Our clients at the Oxford have enthusiastic and up for the challenge. I am looking forward to my second snowboard season.

Brandy came from the “Big Box” work environment of Corporate America. After doing some self searching, she realized that she could combine her desire to help others and her passion for health and fitness. She graduated from a 230 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2010 and has been teaching ever since. Teaching many styles of yoga such as Power, Athletes, Restorative, and Strength, she has found that she can meet people’s needs based on where that individual is in their life. To continue her education, Brandy also received her certification for Indoor Cycling and Kettlebells. Her spinning classes involve vibrant music, motivational guidance and a true challenge. Teaching someone to work with Kettlebells allows her to challenge the student in strength and cardio. Brandy is also certified on the TRX Suspension Training System. It has become her “go-to” all-around workout.  Making a connection with each student in class and finding out what they need in their fitness journey is what drives her.

Brandy is also a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine. She finds that teaching individuals in a one-on-one environment allows for greater attention to detail for proper alignment and functional training. She recognizes that each client has their own goals and challenges, and that allows her to create meaningful, personalized workouts for each person.

When she is not teaching fitness, she is either practicing yoga, climbing a mountain, running, snowboarding or out exploring our Colorado playground! Passionate about health and wellness, Brandy looks to inspire anyone and everyone to create their most healthful and thriving life.
